Two interior designers just put their adorable, two-bedroom, two-bath Los Angeles cottage up for sale—and it features an amazing architectural pedigree.

The 1942-era cottage was designed by architect Paul Williams, whose clients included Frank Sinatra, Lucille Ball, and Desi Arnaz. The 1,167-square-foot cottage comes with a detached, 130-square-foot studio as well as a loft in a former garage. It’s available for $1,750,000.

“Since purchasing in 2005, [the sellers] have reimagined almost every inch of the home inside and out aesthetically,” says the listing agent, Linda Ferrari of Equity Union Real Estate, “while always staying true to the original structure, design, and character. In addition, they have added a beautiful, custom-color metal roof and drought-resistant landscaping.”

Delightful and multipurpose domicile

Featuring an open floor plan, a brick fireplace, hardwood floors, and beamed ceilings, the cottage is ready for entertaining. Mature landscaping makes outdoor living a breeze, and the kitchen is equipped with stainless-steel appliances.

“The studio is a multipurpose room and can be used as an office, a bedroom, a yoga studio, almost anything someone’s heart desires,” says Ferrari. In the loft, the sellers launched their design company, Garret & Garage.

Since 1998 there have been only three owners, including the sellers, and the petite property comes with a backstory.

“The story is that Williams was commissioned to design for a woman who didn’t want to live in a large home while her husband was away fighting the war,” Ferrari says.

Located in Windsor Square, the home is also in the Historic Preservation Overlay Zone, where structures are protected from further development. It also offers quick access to “Hollywood, downtown, and many studios,” she adds.

“We aren’t really targeting any specific type of buyer,” Ferrari adds. “But I can tell you that most of the people who are coming to see the property are Paul R. Williams fans.”
