A waterfront Home in South Florida

While designer and hotelier Tracy Turco is pulling out of Palm Springs, CA, she is now making a big splash in the Palm Beach County area almost overnight.

Turco quickly renovated a Regency-style, waterfront residence in trendy Manalapan, FL, using her signature showy style.

Now the 5,800-square-foot home with a private dock is on the market for $7,195,000.

The house was originally built in 1967, and records indicate it was last purchased in early March 2023 for $6,625,000.

Turco has made a name for herself as a retro-inspired, over-the-top renovator. She previously transformed tired spaces in Palm Springs into retro-cool hotels and a short-term rental property.

She also totally restored the estate that was once home to sisters Magda and Zsa Zsa Gabor. That home is currently on the market for $2,795,000.

Turco’s touches

Clearly inspired by midcentury modern design, Turco has described her style philosophy as “a throwback, retro-style vibe that I reinterpret and reimagine, and it’s fresh and new.”

Her signature touch is apparent throughout the Manalapan home—from her hand-painted wallpapers to her personally designed fabrics, many of which are perky pink hues.

“You can live out your Barbie and Lilly Pulitzer inspired fantasy,” notes Florida real estate agent Guy W. Clark, in an Instagram post.

Turco has even imported a few pieces from the Gabor house. You can’t miss the portrait of Magda near the fireplace. The portrait on the mantle, by the way, appears to be of Turco herself.

Turco also added many other sparkling details from her international collection, along with new lighting, refurbished fireplaces, a renovated kitchen, and a refreshed master suite. Most of the furniture and accessories are negotiable.

Each of the four bedrooms has its own en suite bath, and the walls have been refreshed with distinctive paint and gloriously original wallpaper.

The primary suite, with its walls of French doors that offer water and estate views, received extra care: gold chandeliers, animal-print wallpaper on the ceilings, and a striking bathtub.

In addition to the 210 feet of water frontage on a Palm Beach channel, the .67-acre lot features immaculately manicured tropical landscaping; mature, sculptural trees; a sizable pool; and an outdoor kitchen.

The spread also includes a three-car garage and a full attic for extra storage.

A crushed-seashell driveway rounds out the one-of-a-kind property.

Pink palace

It doesn’t take long to notice that various shades of pink dominate the home’s new color palette.

This is particularly apparent on the exterior and also in the kitchen, where walls, cabinets, and furniture have all been painted the same pastel shade. Barbie would be approve.

For those attracted to the brightly hued home, there’s another appealing perk. Homeownership includes a free membership at the swanky La Coquille Club in The Eau Hotel and Spa. Amenities include a private beach, fitness center, an elegant clubhouse, tennis courts, and a pool and spa with private cabanas—plus a posh, members-only dining room.

Turco, who describes herself as an artist, designer, author, hotelier, entrepreneur, and style icon, is now filming a new HGTV series. She recently flipped a newly refreshed, but more subdued, home in Sag Harbor, NY.

She is now in process of divesting herself of most of her Palm Springs properties, including the Cheetah Hotel, The Art Hotel, and the Tiki House, which have all sold. Turco also closed her fun and fanciful Modernism Museum, which opened in 2022.
