Built in 1930, the home has an illustrious past.

“It was part of the Archdiocese of Providence for years,” says listing agent Raymond Mott, of Mott & Chace Sotheby’s International Realty.

Apparently, the bishops and other leadership members used it as a summer retreat for decades. The diocese sold the home to the current owners in 2003 for $7 million.

The esteemed estate was originally listed for $32.5 million last year. Mott believes the current, lowered price is just right.
