Dr. Dre Puts a $20M Price Tag on His Malibu Joint

A hip-hop mogul is ready to unload the oceanfront getaway he’s had for more than two decades.

Dr. Dre—rapper, producer, and co-founder of Beats Electronics—has listed his six-bedroom, seven-bath Malibu, CA, home for $20 million, Dirt reported.

Spread over nearly 8,850 square feet, the striking, three-story mansion is located on Carbon Beach, an ultra-exclusive strip of sand favored by billionaires.

Dre originally shelled out nearly $4.8 million for the home, which means he’ll make out like a king if he gets anywhere near the astonishing asking price.

A gated courtyard greets visitors to the estate, while the virtually all-window construction dazzles and the open floor plan is ready for sophisticated entertaining.

The primary suite has its own balcony—anchored by a fireplace and sitting area—and opens to an enormous adjoining bathroom with a soaking tub and sauna.

An impressive home gym and recording studio (where we have to wonder whether Dre laid down some familiar beats) are also part of the package.

Dre tested the market with the property back in 2011 with an $11 million price tag and again in 2012 for $12.5 million. And it’s been rentable, too, for a cool $85,000 a month.

With the potential sale of this spot, Dre’s homes in California aren’t totally depleted, as he is said to also own two mansions in Calabasas and one in Brentwood that he purchased for $40 million in 2014 from Tom Brady and Gisele Bündchen.
