After listing her Old Westbury, NY, home last summer, award-winning performer Ashanti Douglas has finally found a buyer.

The R&B singer and New York native initially put the place on the market for $2,198,000 in July 2022. After a year with no takers, the listing sold for $1,950,000—the same price she paid for the house in 2003, during the height of her fame.

The six-bedroom, six-bath residence was built in 1999 and sits at the end of a cul-de-sac. Situated on 2 acres, the brick Colonial boasts spacious rooms, cathedral ceilings, and beautifully landscaped lawns.

Lovely interiors

The 5,345-square-foot abode is filled with dramatic details—a sweeping staircase and sparkling chandelier in the foyer and patterned-tile flooring in the entryway, among other attractive flourishes.

In the living room, there’s a marble fireplace and a wall of windows that overlook the garden. Nearby, French doors open to the patio—an ideal spot for morning coffee or sunset cocktails.

Ashanti, 42, might be best known for her early-2000s hits, including “Foolish,” Baby,” and “Happy.” Beyond music, she starred in movies such as “Coach Carter” and “John Tucker Must Die.” She is also co-owner of EQ Exchange, a tech company.
