A Buyer Just Jumped: Van Halen’s Michael Anthony Sells His SoCal Pad for $1.3M

It looks like someone jumped on this deal already. Former Van Halen bassist and backing vocalist Michael Anthony has unloaded his Glendora, CA, abode for $1.3 million.

The home was listed in late July for $1,198,000.

According to records, the ranch-style dwelling was last sold in 1980 for a paltry $180,000. The rocker put approximately $200,000 into the house for recent renovations and upgrades.

The three-bedroom, 2.5-bathroom residence is located just 26 miles east of Los Angeles. It’s just minutes away from restaurants, shops, and more.

The 2,000-square-foot home was built in 1976 and features an open floor plan. The sleek, remodeled kitchen has an oversized center island, stainless-steel appliances, and dark wood cabinets.

The living room has a gray brick fireplace, beamed ceiling, and sliding doors to the backyard. The bedrooms are spacious and feature sliding glass doors for outside access. The upgraded bathrooms feature tiled showers and sleek vanities.

There’s also a home office.

Outdoor fun

The backyard is like having your own tropical escape. A pool with a Baja ledge and spa sets the tone, while the gorgeous mountain views seal the deal.

Additionally, there’s a laundry room, a studio, and a three-car garage with epoxy flooring and a workstation.

Anthony, 69, was the lead bassist and backing vocalist for Van Halen from 1974 to 2006. He recorded 11 studio albums with the rock group and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Van Halen in 2007.
