The iconic frontman and co-founder of the band Kiss has reportedly offloaded his dazzling desert home.

Gene Simmons is set to tour one last time with his legendary, shock-rock band this year. In the meantime, the fire-breathing rocker has sold his glass-box Nevada mansion, plus the half-acre lot next door, for $11 million, Dirt reported.

According to the report, the 73 year old will barely eke out a profit (only $200,000) on this recent transaction. He paid $8.2 million for the house and $2.6 million for the nearby lot in 2021.

But it seems desert life—and the extreme heat—didn’t agree with Simmons, resulting in the quick turnaround and modest return.

With nearly 11,000 square feet, the home’s incredible construction is almost hard to fathom. A three-story, glass wall in the main living area looks out over the Las Vegas valley and brightly illuminates the abode’s raw-concrete and polished-stone surfaces.

The kitchen features two islands, high-end appliances, and striking pops of tomato red. Among the home’s many amenities are a bar, movie theater, game room, and a built-in fish tank. Indoor-outdoor living is made possible with sliding glass doors, an open-air kitchen, and a pool that dwarfs those seen at many hotels.

The primary bedroom is also exceptionally luxe, with its enormous seating area, private deck, walk-in closets, and a huge bathroom.

Simmons still has a place to rest his painted head, though. In 2021, he picked up a Beverly Hills mansion for $10.5 million.

Kiss was founded in 1973, which means the group’s swan-song tour is fittingly timed 50 years later. The last leg of the tour will be at New York City‘s Madison Square Garden in late 2023.
